Veterans’ Services District Office and its branch
offices handle applications for financial and medical
assistance, arrange transportation to VA facilities,
visit housebound veterans and those in hospitals and
nursing homes, advise veterans on community resources,
and provide assistance with housing, home loans,
education and the full range of veterans benefits. In
2008, the District office assisted veterans in receiving
over $34 million dollars in federal VA benefits. They
serve the needs of a District veteran population of
21,500 in fifteen communities. |
